What is a PDO Thread Lift?

The PDO thread lift procedure is a non-surgical way to :

How Does it Work ?

PDO sutures are injected into the patient’s desired treatment area using either Canulas ( in the case of cog lifts ) or needles in the case of mono, double and spiral threads. These PDO threads are composed of polydioxanone a material used in many ways in medical and surgical practice for years.

They physically pull back, lift, and tighten the skin. In the case of the cog lifts the initial pulling back of the skin produces beautiful results that are immediately noticeable to patients.

The threads also stimulate a selective inflammatory response which then triggers the body’s healing response. This leads to the production and laying down of Collagen around the Thread.
Collagen is one of the most important components of the skin and is responsible for smooth, tight, and youthful-looking skin.

Over the next 3 months, this process continues so the skin becomes increasingly rejuvenated in appearance. The threads dissolve during this period, as the collagen is laid down until they disappear completely but the effect of the procedure usually lasts for 12 to 18 months.

Is it painful ?

Local Anaesthetic injections are used when cogs are inserted. Mono threads often require only topical Anaesthetic cream.
Our Patients report that the procedure is not painful as our Anaesthetic techniques are effective.

Am I suitable for a PDO Thread Lift?

The procedure is ideal for patients that have begun to experience slight sagging in the jawline, neck, and face who do not require or want a surgical procedure.
It must be remembered however that we are effectively “re-draping ” sagging tissues, no skin is being removed as in a surgical facelift.

The benefits of that are a General Anaesthetic is avoided, post-treatment recovery and ‘downtime’ is very much reduced.
